Struggles are multidimensional. We see this in Breaking Through. For example, one of the struggles Panchito had to deal with was being undocumented. This struggle caused Panchito to live in fear of the border
patrol. Some examples from the text that provide evidence is when he said that every time he saw a green uniform he would panic. Another example is how Panchito has been living in the U.S for ten years and scared of being back to Mexico the last example is when Panchito and his family were forced out of the U.S because they didn’t have papers. As you can see struggles are multidimensional. Struggle, specifically poverty and racism, is multidimensional and has implications that can harm us.
Along the lines of struggle being multidimensional, we can also examine its implications. Ones again using Breaking Through Panchito struggles with society. Poverty affects Panchitos education, health, living conditions, and having to work at a young age. There are examples from the book that show the implications of poverty. One example is when Panchito said, “ I did not want to miss more school” (Breaking Through by, Francisco Jimenez) this shows that because of poverty Panchito is forced to miss school. Another example from the text is when they get sick they don’t have money to go to the doctor when they are sick. In the book Breaking Through Panchitos family live in a really small house because they are people of a low income. My last example is people that work in the fields get paid by bags so they take the whole family to work, from a young age. Now you know that poverty affects kids and adults.
In addition poverty has implications found in other sources such as the web. Poverty affects health; research shows that people living in poverty are most likely to smoke and consume alcohol. Another example is poverty keeps people from buying healthy food, healthy food is expensive and junk food is cheaper so they buy that food. The third example is how when they are sick they don’t go to the doctor because the don’t have the money so that makes them and get even more sick.
In addition to health the implications of poverty can also be found in other sources. For example it’s more likely for poor people not to attend college than wealthy people. Another example is children living in poverty have a higher number of absenteeism and dropouts. This happened because the parents are taking the kids to work with them to the fields so they can afford more things. As you can see poverty affects education in many levels from the lack and support and home to the kids having to work. Poverty affects the health of Americans in many ways.
Struggle can be defined as strive to achieve or attain something in the face of difficulty or resistance. Some may debate that struggles are acceptable because it can’t help you work harder. Other think that struggle is negative. Much analysis has been conducted on this topic. This essay will argue that despite people’s opinion specific, struggles are negative.
Another thing that affects the life of people living in poverty is living conditions. Because of poverty people are forest to live in the floor.(Americaneedsyourhelp.com) Also families of five have to live in a room because they cant afford more(Americaneedsyourhelp.com) Another example from the web is some families don’t have enough money to even get a small room and have to live in the streets. (Americaneedsyourhelp.com) The fourth and last example is some people even die because their in the streets and its to cold and they freeze to death.(Americaneedsyourhelp.com) this is how poverty affects living conditions in the U.S and in other states and countries.
Another thing that poverty affects is child labor. One example I got from the web is kids can work in the fields starting at the age of 12. (Wikipedia) But some people just pretend not to know they have kids younger than 12 working. Another example is they have to work to help out the family so they can have a more decent life and can get some food in the table. (Wikipedia) The third example is how kids work full time in the hot sun and don’t go to school so that affects their education to. (Wikipedia) The forth and last example is how
Here you can see that poverty is bad. You have read so many evidence of how poverty is a bad struggle that has to be eliminated. But theirs some people that refuse to see and read the evidence and think that it’s a good thing. How can someone think that poverty is good knowing it affects education, living conditions, heath, child labor, and way more.
Poverty is not the only struggle that has negative implications ;racism is; the belief that all members of each race possess characteristics or abilities specific to that race, esp. so as to distinguish it as inferior or superior to another race or race’s. Panchito was made fun of because of what he eat. That caused him to stop eating Mexican food. This is racism and it’s a problem.
Ones again using Breaking Through Panchito struggles with society. Racism affects In Panchito in many ways. At first but when Peggy’s parents found out Panchito was Mexican they told her she couldn’t talk to him no more. (Jimenez.49) Another example is when Roberto’s girlfriend Susan took him to meet her parents he told them he was Mexican and the parents didn’t let them date anymore. (Jimenez,89)The last example is when Panchitos friends made of him because he was eating tacos they told him he was a Mexican.(Jimenez,98) These are some examples from the book that represent racism. (Jimenez,94)
The movie, 42, about the Jackie Robinson story shows examples of racism and its implications. For example when they were playing against the giants the manager was calling Jackie a lot of mean and offensive words. Another example is
Jackie Robinson was treated unfairly because of his skin color this caused him to feel mad towards the audience and some of the ball players. He also felt hurt when people yell the N word and told him they didn’t want him their. These are the feelings the Jackie felt because of racism.
Struggle and stress is your friend! According to Kelly Mcbonial if you think stress and struggle is not a bad thing. You see the mind has such a power over is that when you hear things lot you will start to believe it. Also 43% of people who believed that stress was harmful died the last year. For example instead of thinking that the fast pounding of your heart is to pump more blood and get it flowing instead of a bad stress reaction it will be a good stress reaction. This is how ones again stress and struggle impact people in a negative way.
In this essay you see how poverty, struggle, and racism affects people. As you can see struggles are multidimensional. Struggle, specifically poverty and racism, is multidimensional and has implications that can harm us.
